PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Carers,
The second week of Advent focuses on the theme of Mark’s gospel - "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord” Mark 1:3. Monday's take home Advent gift, prepared by our family educator Mrs Lozina, is an aid to following the journey of Advent with your family. This week the theme is Peace. You may like to use the beads to say a decade of the rosary together in order to prepare yourself for the coming of the Lord.
Advent is seen as a significant time of planning and preparation for Christmas. It's not often seen as a journey which in fact it was for Mary and Joseph. They didn't just arrive in Bethlehem on Christmas Eve, they had a long and arduous journey to get there. As this year of St Joseph ends it is appropriate to acknowledge and explore the notion of Joseph as a man of courage, love, and acceptance.
We have two weeks of school left before the end of the 2021 school year as of today. There are many things to accomplish before that time and many things to celebrate.
Academic Reports are completed and being proofread this week. They will be available next week on Compass. Our students are doing very well, have settled well into their class routines and are very enthusiastically engaged in their final weeks of school with their friends..
Last night we held the Annual General Sports Club Meeting. I’m sure you are aware that Sacred Heart has a very large Sports Club run solely by parents. The club works closely with the school and provides a range of sports for our children to participate in.
Thank you to the following coordinators for all they do for the club and our students. Thank you to the managers, assistant coaches and parents that ensure the children get a game every week if they possibly can. This year has been a challenge for all involved and we thank the Sports Club Committee members for being so flexible, generous and so professional in the manner with which they conduct all club matters. Thank you to Brad McCarthy who will stay with the club as Treasurer in 2022 to provide a transition for a new treasurer. If you are interested in taking on this position in the future please contact the club.
Thank you for all you do to:

Teachers are completing class lists for 2022 at the moment. Requests can be made regarding placement but they must go through the office (info@shmosman.catholic.edu.au) Any request for class placement must have a valid reason and be in writing. Please understand that not all requests can be fulfilled as class placement is an extremely complex task which takes into account many competing factors.
Virtual Christmas Concert 6pm Wednesday 8th December
We have viewed the first rough cuts of our Virtual Concert and it will be a very exciting and different experience, but also a little familiar for us all to see. It will be played over Zoom next Wednesday evening and would be best viewed on a television with a good sound system as the music is a very special part of our show. We will send you the link next week.
