PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Carers
Yesterday we held our modified Book Week celebration. Our students really took up the theme to reuse and recycle and we saw some very imaginative costumes that brought to life many of our students' favourite book characters.
Today Tim Harris, the author, is meeting with all classes via Zoom to share his writing tips and his journey as an author. Book Week is always a great reminder to us that we can all get so much joy from reading. Often with children it is finding the right book or author that gets them enthused about reading. If your child hasn't been reading a lot lately it might be a challenge to find that fantasy book, factual book, comic, series or author that will continue or begin to develop a love of reading.
It is very exciting that we are able to plan a Christmas concert for you. As it is a virtual one we are having to be very creative and resourceful in order to present this for our families.
This year’s Christmas concert will be a Zoom performance on the 8th of December at 6pm. This will need to be watched live as we wont be recording the concert. All parents in the school will be sent the link closer to the date which you may want to share with family. All children in the school will be filmed for the event. If you don't want your child filmed in the concert please contact the office prior to Monday 15th November. Please see the reminder of costumes below and the filming schedule for when your child’s class will need to wear their costume.
Changes to restrictions - Dismissal - car line back to 3pm!!
Thank you to our parents who have helped us with the staggered pickups. They have run so smoothly that we can return to a 3pm pickup for Kinder to Year 2 and their siblings and a 3.10 pickup for Years 3-6 from Monday 8th November. This will help us have a valuable extra few minutes each day for our children’s learning.
Most changes to restrictions from November the 8th do not affect schools. We have been told we will be operating at Level 3 restrictions until the end of Term 4. Please see the current advice especially the point made about keeping children home if they feel unwell. Link
This Friday we will welcome via Zoom our new Kindergarten parents for Kinder 2022. Such an exciting time for the school and our new parents. We will welcome our new Kinder students to school officially in December.
Enjoy your week.
Regards
Julie Caldwell
