Heartfelt

Term 1, Week 11

Week eleven.  What can I say?  As a parent, I can last the ten-week term but that eleventh week is a test of patience beyond measure. To add to this, our Lenten Journey is coming to an end, which can sometimes be a mixed bag of emotions.  If we have honoured our Lenten promises, we might feel victorious, refreshed and ready to conquer the world with our new perspective on life.  If we have wavered, we might feel that we have let ourselves down and we might even feel a little deflated.   This is where “John 3:16” comes into play: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WVnAbdHZao

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

No matter what we do, how successful we are or even if we feel we need “a little more work,” God doesn’t discriminate.  He showed us true love and salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Through our honouring of the Easter Triduum and our faith in God’s great plan, we are called to eternal life.  If this Lent has been a tough one, brush off the disappointment and rejoice in the knowledge that you can start afresh, and embrace the love of God  each and everyday.  Have a safe and happy holiday break.  Happy Easter to you all!

Gift of Bread.jpg

Gift of bread thoughts……

“We’ve been doing Gift of Bread because it’s a really simple idea that gives a lot back.  It takes bread – a staple food for most people, that was going to be unused and gives it to those who need it.

It’s a win for the environment, as food is not going into landfill and it makes the more vulnerable people in our community (homeless, elderly  etc) feel like someone is looking out for them.

It shows my children how easy it is to be part of a community and models how easy it is to help others. It’s also quick – it only takes 40 minutes out of your day.   My car also smells lovely after dropping the bread off too!”
