STUDENT LOCKDOWN PROJECT
Sophie has always wanted to create a veggie garden and be part of a gardening club. Last weekend her dream was realised when the barren mulch patch outside our back gate was transformed into an abundant garden full of potential - this treasure trove of vegetable seeds (and some flowers for colour!) that will burst into life over the coming weeks and months.
Various neighbours who have been excitedly looking on, have kindly donated a fig tree, frangipani and some colourful red shrubs which further enhances the garden.
We all look forward to watching the garden come to life over the coming weeks!
Our fruit and veggie garden by Sophie Year 3
My neighbours, my brother and I, started a fruit and veggie patch. We are growing lettuces, carrots, cucumber, corn, parsley, chickpeas, broad beans, snow peas and figs.
I water them in the morning and my neighbours water them midday and we all water them in the afternoon. We also have paths going through the garden. It is truly amazing. I’m very proud of our garden when people stop to look at it.
