RELIGIOUS EDUCATION UPDATE

‘I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never be hungry. He who believes in me will never thirst.’

bread_of_life.png

A reflection from Sunday’s Mass, Sacred Heart Parish on the 2nd August, the 18th Sunday of Ordinary Time.

This is a reminder to let ourselves be nourished by the bread as we gather and pray together. In the prayers that we say, amongst the people we live with, in our own homes, during this period and always, in the presence of God. Thank you Father Phil, Father Henry and Father Noel for inviting us to share with you a beautiful Eucharistic celebration each Sunday via the link below.

Reflections for our students:

What are some of your favourite things?

Which of these are important because they keep you alive and well?

In Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus tells us He gives us the bread of life, Himself. How is Jesus good for us?

The more we believe in Jesus and do what He asks of us, the more we have Jesus within us.

We pray that Jesus will be with us this week and fill us with His goodness.

The Feast Day of Saint Mary MacKillop

This coming Sunday, 8th August, our Church celebrates the Feast Day of Saint Mary MacKillop, Australia’s first Saint. The community of Sacred Heart will be acknowledging the Feast Day of Saint Mary MacKillop next week.

Please join us via Zoom on Monday morning, 9th August at 8:40am, for our morning Assembly. We will say a special prayer to acknowledge Saint Mary MacKillop.
