Holy Week Liturgies

This week, all grades led our school community in liturgies commemorating the days of Holy Week. Year 2 began our week sharing Palm Sunday which then continued into Kindergarten’s Washing of the Feet and Year 1’s The Last Supper. Year 5 and Year 6 continued with The Garden and the story of the Crucifixion with Year 3 and Year 4 ending our liturgies sharing the story of the Resurrection.

Many thanks for the hours of preparation by teachers and students, as well as the parents and other members of the school community who came to support our students in their celebrations.

Pope Francis Award nominees for 2019

Last year, Sacred Heart participated in the inaugural Sydney Catholic Schools Pope Francis Award program. We will be participating again in 2019 with a new cohort of Year 6 students. The following students will be working with Ms Kristen Jackson and Mrs Mary Lozina throughout the year: Amelie Champ, Bronte McPherson, Charlotte Grebe, Eloise McNamee, Harriet Thompson, Harrison McCarthy, India O'Connor, Isabella Livermore, Joab Burquest, Kate Whitson, Katie Maddern, Kiera Mironova, Matthew Athans, Roisin Thompson, Sabine Lozina, Scarlett Martyr, Tiernan Cargill, Xavier Garcia and Zoe O'Neil.

We look forward to the contributions that these students will make this year!

ANZAC Day Liturgy - Tuesday April 29, 2019

On the first day of Term 2, our Year 6 students will be leading our school community in an ANZAC Day Liturgy commemorating lives lost at war.

This will be in our School Hall at 2.30pm and all members of our community are welcome to attend.

Mother’s Day Mass - Friday May 10, 2019 @ 9.15am

Each year, we celebrate our mothers on Mother’s Day. The students will celebrate this year with our breakfast provided by our fantastic P&F as usual, followed by a whole school Mass led by our Year 5 students and their teachers. This Mass will be in our church at 9.15am, and all members of our community are welcome to attend.

Mother’s Day Presentation for Mothers

This year, we will be compiling a set of digital photographs of our students with their mothers, grandmothers or those who may fill the role of a mother in the lives of our students.

We hope to follow this up with a similar presentation for Father’s Day!
