ACTING PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the newsletter for Week 2!
A busy start to the term
It is certainly safe to say that Term 2 has kicked off with a bang, with the prospect of teaching and learning for this term generating much excitement among students and teachers. While taking some parents and their children on prospective enrolment tours today, it became evident just how productive we are!
Along with the great work that happens with teachers and students, we are always pleased to welcome our external contractors into school to assist in specialty areas. Three particular contractors are working with us in the fields of Dance, Science and Technology and integrating indigenous perspectives across the curriculum.
Dance Fever have joined us yet again to share the magic of Dance with students from Kindergarten to Year 6. After having cut short our Dance Fever experience in 2020, our students are keen to begin learning their moves again. You can see Year 5 perfecting their moves with the help of our instructors.
Scope IT are another group to join us for another year. This term, the students are engaged in a number of different projects integrated into their learning within Science and Technology. Students from Years 4, 5 and 6 as well as KGold will participate in Coding this term, with Years 1, 2 and 3 as well as KBlue participating next term. As you can see in the photos of 4Gold, our students very much enjoy the content, but also working collaboratively on their projects.
We also welcome Mr David Harrington from Stone and Bones as we begin construction on our sustainable garden, which will be taking shape behind the Art Room in the coming weeks with the help of many groups of students.
An update from Mrs Caldwell
As many of you will now be aware, Mrs Julie Caldwell will be caring for her husband as he recovers from a short, unexpected and serious illness. The teachers and students have been thinking of Mr and Mrs Caldwell until her return in Term 3.
I have been informed that a relieving Acting Principal will look after the school for the remainder of the term. Until such time that someone is appointed into the role, I will be Interim Acting Principal, while Mrs Sam Edwards will be Interim Acting Assistant Principal.
Thanks for your continued support of myself, our teachers and staff and importantly, your children (our students).
Mr Nick Brierley
Acting Principal
