A letter from the Sacred Heart Parents & Friends’ Association
Dear Parents and Carers,
On behalf of SHM P & F Association the 2019 Annual General Meeting was held on Tuesday 12 March.
We saw the appointment of a new Vice President, Paul Graham replacing outgoing Vice President, Sam Wright. We thank Sam for his time and contribution to the school community.
Retiring Head Class Representatives, Siobhann Roberts-Thomson and Michelle Tam stepped down from their Honorary Committee Member positions and Jacqui McCarthy and Mary-Jo Whitson, Parent Liaison were appointed in their place. We thank Siobhann and Michelle for the countless hours they have contributed to the P&F and the school community both on and behind the scenes over the past two years.
We also welcome two new Committee members Michelle Crone and Rachael Steer.

This committee and myself are keen to get to work to assist all parents and carers in our mutual aim to strengthen the partnership between family, school, parish and the wider community for the benefit of our children’s overall development and learning.
Acting on the results of the 2018 P&F online survey together with key learnings from the 2018 School Fundraiser and Spring Fair we have stepped away from significant fundraising efforts for an initial period of 12 months (with a review planned for the end of that period). Instead we will focus on working closely with Julie Caldwell to deliver events that will engage the whole school community with the ultimate priority being our children and to create the “glue” that is so important to Sacred Heart Mosman. A calendar of events is in place and I draw your attention to this calendar that is on the school website, so you are all abreast of what is coming up. Notably our key parent function for this school year is the event on March 23 on school grounds. Live music, DJ, Food trucks and BYO it promises to be a great night out. Over 250 tickets have been sold and we encourage you to purchase your tickets if you haven’t already had a chance to do so www.trybooking.com/BAVAA
The school fundraiser traditionally held in August will not run this year. The Spring Fair will run as planned in early November.
Please give us your ideas and thoughts on what more the P & F could do and attend any general meetings we have to voice your thoughts.
If you need to speak with myself and any of the P & F committee, please don’t hesitate to contact us on the numbers or email above as we would love to hear from you.
Please remember the P & F is not here simply to fundraise rather to act as a mechanism for representing parents and provide a forum where matters relating to the education and development can be discussed productively and we seek to create a warm and welcoming school community.
Kind Regards
Chris Janes
President
Sacred Heart Parents & Friends’ Association.
