Sacred Heart Cross Country Trials

This year all students in Years 2 to Year 6 will have the opportunity to participate in the Sacred Heart Cross Country Trials.

DATE: Wednesday, April 3, 2019 (Term 1 Week 10)

VENUE: Allan Border Oval, Mosman

START TIME: Years 2, 3 & 4 will walk the course at 9.20am. Years 5 & 6 will walk the course at 11.40am. Any student in year 5 who is turning 10 in 2019 will be attending the morning trial (with yr 2, 3 & 4)

FINISH TIME: Approximately 11.30am for Years 2, 3 & 4 and 1.30pm for Years 5 & 6

DISTANCES: 8/9/10yrs: 2km 11/12/13yrs: 3km

TRANSPORT: Children will walk to and from the oval with their teachers and parent helpers.

 

This is a compulsory school event. All students from Year 2 to Year 6 will be required to attend the carnival as it is a school day.  Children may choose to run or walk the race according to their fitness level.

 

Please return the ONLINE permission form no later than Monday 25 March. Any student who has not returned a signed permission slip will not be able to attend the event


Click HERE to view and submit the ONLINE permission & Volunteer form in order for your child to attend. Please submit one form per child if you have more than one child. TIP:  Before submitting, opt for a copy of the completed form be sent to you.

CLOTHING: Children are to wear their sports uniform including a hat. Runners must be worn and spiked footwear is not permitted.

WHAT TO BRING: Children will need to bring their fruit break, recess, lunch and drinks for the day (at least two water bottles). Sunscreen should be applied before walking to the oval. It is recommended that your child packs a tube of sunscreen in their bag.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS/ALLERGIES: Please include in consent form – any relevant medical history important for our information eg asthma, bee stings, allergies etc. Asthmatics please bring medication.

WET WEATHER: In the event that it is raining alternative arrangements will be made.

SELECTIONS: The first 4 placegetters (4 boys and 4 girls) in each event will qualify for the Eastern Region Cross Country Trials. Details TBC.\
