Dear Sacred Heart Parents

As we all know the onset of COVID-19 has had a major impact on our daily lives upending our normal routine around our children’s education as well as life at home as we knew it.

This not just changed the lives of parents and carers but it also had a major impact on all staff at SHM.

Our staff were forced to quickly adapt. A small number of students remained at school with parents employed in essential services. Our staff prepared detailed learning packs suitable for use both within the classroom and for use at home. Our teaching and support staff rose to the challenge with never ending dedication, time and effort to help us navigate this period. Our students continued to learn, as well as develop new skills and most importantly stay connected to their teachers and classmates. 

Now that we are beginning a staggered restart of face to face learning, and as a small gesture of thanks and to acknowledge the work of all our staff, they will each receive a voucher from Fourth Village Providore.  This has been funded by SHM P & F in conjunction with our Parent Liaison, Jenny Winter and Allison Ramadge.  We have deliberately chosen to support local and a business connected to the family of one of our current infant pupils. 

I encourage all our parents and carers to personally acknowledge the efforts over the past couple of months when they see any teachers and our support staff.

This week returning students and all our staff were greeted with a beautiful expression of our students’ thanks. The Parent Liaison together with a group of Year Six students on behalf of our student body organised a chalk thank you note at the school's entrance to acknowledge the extraordinary efforts from all the staff at SHM.

I look forward to when we can all be together as a group again. In the meantime, keep well.
