PRINCIPAL'S NEWS

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to Mrs Lozina, Miss Jackson and Miss Conway who organised the parish youth mass on Sunday evening. Many of our Year 6 students from 2019 held a reunion at the mass. Father Phil was very happy to see them all return to their school/ parish. If your child is in Year Five or Six and wants to attend the Youth Mass and to join the choir please ask them to have a chat to Miss Jackson.

Next Friday we will say farewell to Mrs Kelly as she goes on maternity leave. Her contribution to the school over the last six years has been invaluable. Michelle has been instrumental putting many systems and processes in place that ensure that we track all our children’s learning growth. We wish her and Clive all the very best for the future with their new child. The usual processes to find Michelle’s replacement are currently in hand with Sydney Catholic Schools. Interviews with the selection panel will go ahead over the next few weeks. We will let you know as soon as possible when the appointment of Acting Assistant Principal is made.

Our first parent social event for the year will be held this Friday evening. It is a chance for us to get together as a community. Last year over three hundred mums, dads and carers attended the event. It was a great event even in the rain!  Please purchase your tickets at the following link

Next week's Inquiry and Review on the 9th and 10th of March gives the school a chance to show where we have been over the last five years of our learning journey and make recommendations regarding the next five years of our learning journey. A panel of Principals, our Chief Executive and personnel from Sydney Catholic Schools will be in attendance at the school for those two days.

A reminder that school photos will be taken at school on Friday 13th March. All children should wear their full summer uniform that day.

Would parents be aware that our neighbours are finding it difficult to leave their houses in the afternoon as our parents are blocking their driveways and at times are blocking the roundabout.  Please ensure that you do not park or stop across driveways and that you do not stop in the roundabout.

Please keep Miss Alison Brent in your prayers. Alison is currently the Loreto Junior School Principal. Unfortunately her previous illness has reappeared and she is currently on leave.

Regards

Julie Caldwell
