Principal's Message

Dear Parents

A reminder that our Parent Information Evening will begin at 6pm in the hall, then conclude with duplicate sessions in classrooms.  The evening should conclude around 7.30pm.

Opening School Mass

Thank you to Mr Brierley and our staff for planning the Opening School Mass celebration to begin our school year.

Mr Rick Grech from Marist College North Shore spoke to Year 4 and 5 students today.  Marist enrolments are currently open for Year 5 students enrolling for Year 7 2022.  Their open day is on Wednesday, 26 February 2020 from 4pm - 5.30pm.

We have shared the news regarding our new music provider.  The other good news is that our concert band is still running concurrently thanks to our band parents (especially Alexandra Clyde).  Details re the concert band are in the newsletter below.

A reminder regarding supervision of students at school.  No student can be at school without direct supervision of parents or teachers.  Appropriate student supervision is set out below:

  • Teacher supervision (between 8.10am - 3.00pm)
  • On car line until 3.20pm
  • In a music/Spanish class before or after school with music teachers only. Students cannot wait for later lessons unsupervised at school.
  • At, before or after school care
  • At sport training (basketball or netball)
  • Organised, rostered parent supervision while waiting for 4.15pm training

Please note that children cannot be at school unsupervised.

Safer Internet Week

Teachers will be touching on the topic of safe internet use this week.  Please discuss this with your child.  Could you ensure that you return internet agreements asap if you haven't done so.

Please see the Public calendar for class mass dates on Thursday mornings.  Classes are on roster to attend mass with the Parish.  Parents may join the mass if they wish.

We are currently struggling with the volume of children attending car line at the moment. Can you please ensure that children know if they are going home by car. A reminder that car line runs in the morning so there is no parking in front of the school. The fines are very heavy.

You are all invited to the Annual General P & F meeting on Tuesday, 18 February at 7.00pm in the school hall.

Kind regards

Julie Caldwell
