Housekeeping Reminders 2020
At the beginning of the year it is timely to remind parents and carers of some housekeeping:
From the admin office:
- It is important to read the weekly Newsletter which contains important event dates & information - in the Menu Tab if using a handheld device.
- Going home messages (car line/bus/afterschool care etc) must be given to administration by 1.50pm for same day changes except in emergencies. Please don’t email the classroom teacher with same day changes. Telephone the school on 9969 6600 rather than email.
- The school's sickness policy requires a child to stay at home for 24hours if they have vomited for any reason. If your child is unwell, please keep them at home.
- Please do not make medical or other private appointments for your child within school hours where possible.
Compass:
- Full day absences are completed by Parents via Compass Browser.
- Partial absences are completed at the school office upon arrival or departure
Please refer to link for non-attendance guidelines
Lunch Orders via Flexischools for second lunch:
- Reoccuring lunch orders can be setup in advance via the website. Update your child's class for 2020.
- Daily orders must be completed by 9.00am. Late orders can be made up until 12pm - the menu however will be restricted.
- Ensure that you complete the full process with confirmation pop-up of order for one or multiple orders. If you do not follow this step, your child’s order will not be processed.
- It is each parents’ responsibility to ensure that their children have enough healthy food for a full day of school.
Entering and Exiting the School:
- Parents/carers collecting children from the school grounds once the 3pm bell sounds must collect children from the designated areas ie Kamaruka and silver seats only. Please do not exit through the main school gates while carline is underway. Please note that gates do not open until 2:50pm.
- All parents/carers entering the school grounds between the hours of 8:40am and 2:50pm must enter via the school office.
- Follow the road rules for parking restrictions in a school zone. Do not speed (40 kmph zone) or play excessive loud music in car line that may disturb those living in houses nearby. Do not do a U-turn in Cardinal Street as it endangers children.
- There are clear emergency break glass boxes at each gate/exit. Please do not let children play with these as it sets an alarm off.
Medication
- Parents/carers must provide all necessary and relevant information regarding specialised medical assistance and must ensure that such information is updated on a regular basis - eg action plans.
- Parents/carers must provide the equipment and medication required for the student’s care and ensure that regular re-supply occurs. Medication must not be out of date and should be securely labelled.
- Please note that the school will only administer medication with a doctor’s prescription. Medication such as panadol, cough syrups etc with a simple note from a parent will not be acceptable. A doctor’s letter is required. Parents/carers will provide consent/authorisation for the school to contact the relevant medical/health practitioner if needed.
