PRINCIPAL'S NEWS
Dear Parents and Carers,
Advent is usually referred to as a time of preparation for Christmas. This can sometimes be a frantic time as we prepare for holidays, visitors and try to attend to the myriad of work and school functions. It might also be a time for us to try and slow down and mindfully prepare our hearts for Christmas so we can focus on the true meaning of why we celebrate. It was brought back to me very strongly last night as we watched the beautiful nativity portrayed by our students and heard our school song sung so committedly by our children.
On Tuesday we held a volunteers morning tea where we were able to thank the many volunteers that give their time to support the students at the school, in the classroom, on the sporting fields and at functions. I know there are many more that were unable to attend that help us in many and varied ways. We really appreciate everything you do for us.
Thank you to Kate Montgomery and her team who ran the Parent Function on Saturday evening. Previously there have been seven different parent grade functions and there was positive feedback to say that this was a great success.
Words cannot express how proud I was of the children at the Christmas Carols evening. Every class enthusiastically participated happily on stage. The stars of the show of course were Year Six. Directed by Linda Conroy a group of Year Six students wrote the script, learnt their lines and all of Year Six choreographed dances and were enthusiastic co constructors. Thank you of course to Linda Conroy who put the show together. We are blessed to have her on staff. Our school song was showcased at the end of the night. Linda and her brother Tom wrote the song for us last year and the children have really grown to love it and love to lift the roof at our masses!
A big thank you to the Marist staff and students who came to assist is on the evening. Thank you to the Panta family (Chargrilled Charlies Neutral Bay) who provided dinner for the staff. Thank you Alsion Ramadge for the beautiful photos of the evening.
Tomorrow evening at 6pm our Year Six will graduate at the mass at Sacred Heart Church. All students and families are welcome. There are still a few things to go in our calender as you can see below:
