State Basketball Challenge - Photos as promised
Last week, we informed parents and families that Sacred Heart had nine basketball teams representing the school in Albury at the basketball challenge which has been running for 36 years.
Twenty five Catholic schools from all over NSW travelled to Albury with most schools arriving on Friday.
The Senior Boys A (Division 1) won against Albury A 24-7 and the Senior Girls B (Division 3) won against Goulburn PP 11-4. Both teams went through the tournament undefeated and won their division.
Our junior boys got to the Grand Final but unfortunately were defeated by North Albury A 23-4. In the Semi Finals we had a few unlucky losses with our Senior Girls A losing by a point in over time.
Everyone demonstrated our school motto and good sportsmanship throughout the weekend. We also had a challenge to make two new friends that were not from our school and I think just about everybody achieved that goal. We all had dinner together on the Saturday night and watched the rugby world cup when England defeated New Zealand. It was a great weekend and we cannot wait to participate and be spectators next year. Thank you to all members of the Sacred Heart community who worked on making this event possible.
