HeartFelt
“For everything there is a season,
and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die;
a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted…..” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
The Byrds made a living out of singing these words from the bible. So many people find them very comforting. We can control our lives but only to a certain point. Ultimately, God has the final say. He selected our time of birth and he selects our time to meet him in Heaven, regardless of our plans. Our Catholic faith gives us much healing in difficult times knowing that eternity is the ultimate happiness. I often think of little Sophia in year one whose eyes light up when she talks about Heaven and how it’s a paradise that we cannot even begin to comprehend. She, most enthusiastically, talked to me about how beautiful and peaceful it was and her excitement couldn’t be contained. As parents, we owe it to our children to offer a positive perspective in the hardest of times. Last week, we farewelled Mrs Caldwell’s dad, next week we farewell my father in law. This week our family welcomed baby Zara; a gift that involved many years of praying; a time to laugh and a time to cry. We thank God for the lives led and for the lives that are about to begin. God bless you all.

Thank you to Vakesh at Baker’s Delight at Neutral Bay, who donates the bread for pick up on Thursday. Please support him just as he supports Gift of Bread. We have some local services and charities who are very happy to receive it. If you know of any other local charities, please let me know.
Our first night was absolutely awesome! We had 10 volunteers, picking up bread, packing bread and delivering it the next day.
Camaraderie and the holy spirit was all around us. If you would like to be a part of this life changing exercise, please sign up on: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0548ACAC2DA4FC1-shmgift
Children are most welcome but need to be supervised by their parents.
Please follow our Gift of Bread Facebook page. Sydney Harbour North received great accolades for their enthusiasm.
We pray for…
Mrs Caldwell’s father who has passed to eternal life.
Joe Lozina, grandfather of Sabine who passed this week.
Anthony Van Stratum, the Director of KU Mosman, who suddenly passed on Tuesday this week, we pray for his wife Kelly and children as well as the staff and families of KU Mosman.
“Eternal rest grant to him, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.”
SPaR……….Stop,Pray,Reflect…
Come and have a coffee…..
Children welcome…..
All welcome…….
Apologies for the rocky start to SPaR this term!
We will definitely be having coffee on Thursday 21st February.
See you in the library at 9am.
Would anyone like to volunteer at Vinnies?
We have two programs available.
Vinnies Local area:
This service involves working in pairs, visiting the needy for a short period to aid them for the week. The clients let you know how they are going and what they need for the week.
Vinnies Soup Making at Head Office, Lewisham
Make soup for the homeless with a friend. Vinnies has a kitchen facility that makes soup and sandwiches, which get delivered every night at Central and Martin Place. Hours are between 10 and 1pm which makes it a perfect outreach project for parents who have school children. It’s very rewarding!
VINNIES NIGHT PATROL NEEDS SNACKS!
Term one will involve snack collecting for Vinnies Night Patrol.
There will be a basket in the school foyer for donations such as chips, snack bars, muesli bars, pop corn, cheese/crackers – any snack packs.
ANGELS FOOD SERVICE
Sacred Heart has an Angels food Service which is distributed to families in need and in crisis. If you would like to contribute a meal or if you know of a family who could use some support, please email the school office.
