Why learn Spanish as a foreign language?
- Spanish has been selected as it is the second most spoken language in the world (21 Spanish speaking countries, as well as widely spoken as a second language in other geographies such as the US). It is also an accessible language for native English speakers.
- Like all foreign language learning, research has shown that it benefits cognitive development (Problem solving, analytical and creative thinking)
- Language learning provides awareness and understanding of cultural diversity and differences
- Language learning is a natural and unconscious process when children are young - they learn by immersing themselves
