The Transfiguration of the Lord. - 6th August
This was the date of the dedication of the first church built on Mount Tabor, which is traditionally considered to be the “high mountain” of the Transfiguration.
This feast commemorates the revelation of Christ’s divine glory before His disciples, affirming His identity as the Son of God.
The Liturgical colour for this feast day is White.
Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary 15 August 2025
This feast day commemorates the belief that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was taken body and soul into heaven at the end of her earthly life.
A Holy day of obligation. Masses will be held in our parish,
14 August - 6pm Vigil Mass (also a Catenian Mass) Sacred Heart Church
15 August - 9.15am Mass (with school) Blessed Sacrament Church
9.15am Mass, Midday (whole School Mass), and 6pm Mass Sacred Heart Church

Prayer for the Immaculate Heart of Mary
O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear our prayer. As your children, we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, especially ...(special intention).
We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust in your gentle care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help all of us, Holy Mother, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever.
Amen.
