Science Week
It has been a Science Week like never before at SHM! Themed "Destination Moon" our very own "Science Guy" Mrs Martina Petersen took us on an imagination rocket ride from the Kindergarten students right through to our staff members. We tried out some new experiments, made videos, learnt about gravity, rockets were built and launched... We have had the planetarium visit us, the students met with Dr Wylie, a new before school science class is being investigated, and Fizzics Education visited us again!
Today alone, the Year 3 iMovie on micro gravity explains life in space in a fun way, there is an iMovie of the rocket building launch in slow-mo, Year 6 are a "force" to be reckoned with, Year 1 have a video of their rocket experiments using push forces and Year 4 have a super groovy video "Did you Know?" video about space. I need oxigen just recounting this news!
Receiving feedback from visitors is always welcomed. Dr Wylie was so impressed by the enthusiasm in the school for science and the attentiveness and gratitude of the children when she presented this week. Geoff from Skyworks was also very impressed by how knowledgeable the students were in the planetarium.
