National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week
National Sorry Day is observed on May 26th each year in Australia. It is a day of remembrance and reflection dedicated to acknowledging the historical mistreatment and injustices suffered by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, particularly the Stolen Generations.
National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
The 2025 theme, Bridging Now to Next, reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future. Bridging Now to Next calls on all Australians to step forward together, to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us.
All classes will recognise and reflect upon the importance of National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week this week at school.

Everyone is encouraged to wear their favourite team jersey on this day. THIS IS A MUFTI DAY (Plain clothes, uniform not required). To support those severely impacted by the recent floods in NSW, donations can be made at: GIVOT - NSW Flooding Appeal.
Have a great week!Amanda Macourt
