Ysafe Cyber Safety Sessions – Staying Safe Online!
On Monday 3 March, our students and parents took part in some really important (and interesting!) cyber safety sessions with ySafe. We learnt how to make smart choices online and how to keep ourselves safe while using social media, playing games, and chatting with friends.
Key Takeaways:
- Spotting Negative Online Behaviour – Know what cyberbullying looks like and how to avoid it.
- What to Do If It Happens – Report, block, ask for help, change servers, and take screenshots as evidence.
- The Role of Bystanders – There are three types (outsiders, defenders, reinforcers), and what we do matters!
- Staying Safe on Social Media & Games – Be aware of who’s watching, use privacy settings, and don’t fall for scams.
- Top Gaming Tips – Keep personal information private, use blocking tools, and always ask for help if something doesn’t feel right.
These sessions were a great reminder that the internet can be a fun and positive place when we use it wisely. Keep the conversation going at home and let’s help our kids be confident and safe online!
