LIBRARY NEWS
THE BENEFITS OF BOOKS - where do we begin! We still feel all magical after celebrating a fabulous Book Week. The book character costumes were incredible, with so much detail and thought gone into each and every one. It was also noted how many costumes were made with recycled materials, including our beautiful Year 3 Book Fairy whose outfit was made entirely from the pages of an old book!
All our students received a small bottle of magical reading powers from the Library Galaxy Witches caldron. Thank you to all our staff who love an excuse to dress up and certainly got into the spirit of things too.
It was lovely to meet many of our parents and families at the Book Fair and to showcase our school library. Thank you for all your book purchases, we will receive rewards points to purchase more books and resources for the benefit of all our students. Our costume winners from each class were awarded with a voucher to use at the Book Fair. Please note, back orders from the fair will be delivered to school in the coming days.
The Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) has now closed for this year. Certificates for students that completed the challenge will be sent to school later in the year. Congratulations to Kindy, Year 1 and Year 2 for whole class participation and completion of their challenges.Special mention to 5G for their efforts with their personal reading challenges as well. We had 206 students finish the PRC this year –
well done to our readers!
