FAMILY EDUCATOR UPDATE
We are now in the 4th week of Lent :
Through Lent, we journey to develop a closer relationship to God. The 40 days of Lent should be filled with reflection, service and prayer. Remembering the three traditional pillars of lent are,
Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving
Here is an idea of a craft activity you may like to do as a family.
Make a cross with things you find in nature.
This simple and inexpensive craft is a great way to work together as a family to create something special. Using things only found in nature, such as sticks or rocks, create a cross in the ground or glue to a piece of cardstock or cardboard. Talk to your little ones about why the cross is often associated with Lent and Easter.
You could attach a little card and write your family's names with a prayer of gratitude.
I encourage you to attend Fr Mathews Lenten talks on Wednesday evening at 7pm in the Parish Hall. It's a relaxed evening full of conversation. Reflection of Jesus’ life and unpacking events during lent, leading up to Easter.
Sunday 1st March we celebrate World Day of Prayer.
World Day of Prayer Australia is celebrated on the first Friday of March each year to encourage christians to engage in personal prayer and lead in communal prayer. The theme this year is “I beg you, bear with one another love”
