WELLBEING & ENGAGEMENT UPDATE
International Women’s Day
On Friday March 8 we will recognise and celebrate International Women’s Day. A day to highlight women's achievements. To raise awareness about discrimination and to take action to continue driving gender parity. The campaign theme for International Women's Day 2024 is “Inspire Inclusion.” When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world.
Grow Your Mind Program:
Kindness is Contagious
In the K-2 classes our focus this week has been to understand how being kind can have health benefits for all of us. We discussed how Kindness is contagious and shared the ways in which we can be ‘bucket fillers’ at school.

Shark to Dolphin Thoughts
During our introductory ‘Grow your mind lessons’ in Years 3-6 we have been practising the skill of turning a ‘shark thought' into a ‘dolphin thought’. When you catch yourself saying something negative, you ask yourself, is there a ‘dolphin way’ to look at this problem? It is about building and promoting more optimistic thinking.
REMINDER: Attendance/Arrival at School and on Time
As part of fostering the children’s Wellbeing it is important to remind ourselves of the importance of your child’s attendance at school and on time. To best support your child’s success, make sure that they attend school, all day, every day! Every minute counts. Being just 10 minutes late everyday adds up to an hour a week of lost learning. Being late for class often means important instructions are missed and the ‘settling in’ part of the day is missed for your child to feel most relaxed, comfortable and ready for learning. Arriving at least 5 minutes before the bell allows your child time to interact with their peers and their teacher and to get themselves ready for their busy day.
