PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Parents and carers,

The mission of Sydney Catholic Schools is to know and love Christ through learning. Catholic Schools Week is fast approaching (20-24 March) with our Open Day on 24 March 9:30-11am. It is a wonderful opportunity to share with others what our great school has to offer.

I had the pleasure of visiting all of the local preschools and businesses over the past few days to promote our Open day and I am very much looking forward to meeting our prospective parents. We will have an expo in the school hall on this day followed by morning tea and school tours led by our Year 6 students.

Our first Family Mass on the weekend was a beautiful way to meet our parish community and spend time catching up with the alumni of our school. I heard many great stories and walked away feeling very delighted to be part of this great community. Many thanks to Kristen Jackson and Mary Lozina who do much work behind the scenes to make these masses so special. It was heartening to see so many students at mass.

Just a reminder that next week is ‘Family Well-being Week’ which means there will be no homework for the students. We hope you can take some time to put family first and cherish the special moments you have together.

We look forward to meeting as many of you as possible next week for morning tea at 9:15am in the hall with Mrs Taylor and I.

During 2023, Sacred Heart and Blessed Sacrament will be engaging with their school communities to explore how they can both work more closely with each other. The objective of this engagement is to help shape the future of Catholic primary school education in Mosman and Clifton Gardens.

Community input is critical in understanding how we can continue to develop and improve the school experience for our students and we want to hear from our staff and families about the things that are most important to them. We will be rolling out an engagement program over 2023 designed to ensure that the school communities play an active role in exploring and collaborating on the future of both schools.

Over the next few weeks, you will be provided with details about the different opportunities that will be available to share your views in a coordinated community engagement process.

May God bless all our families.

Leanne Meehan
