Heartfelt
Heartfelt
Term 2, Week 5
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13
It’s hard to wait for something. We think about it and reflect on it and wonder if it will be as wonderful as the thoughts we have concocted in our minds. The anticipation can just as much fun as the event. I hope the Year six students and all the Confirmation candidates feel like this.
On Sunday, our year six students will be making their Sacrament of Confirmation. They have the privilege of being confirmed at St Mary’s Cathedral, which only happens once every nine years. May the Holy Spirit bring them the gifts of wisdom, counsel, knowledge, understanding, fortitude, piety and awe of the Lord. May they use their gifts to serve and be men and women for others.
Congratulations to Teirnan Cargill, year 6, who wrote a detailed explanation about why he loved spending dinnertime with his large family of seven. His response was thoughtful and truly showed a deep love for his family.
Thank you to all the students who shared their thoughts on family. Their responses are displayed on the family educator board, on the playground, next to the art room.

The parish foyer has boxes of bread to give out friends in need every Friday morning. Please help yourself to the bread. You may like to share it with a neighbor in need.
The gift of bread is more than the sharing of bread. It’s the sharing of friendship.
GIFT OF BREAD GALA DINNER

Please join us. It’s such a worthy cause which runs on a shoestring of funds and basically relies on the goodwill of businesses and fundraising. If you can’t make the night, please think about making a donation.

WALK AND TALK:
I’m not sure if this is a “Walk and talk” or a “Walk and lose ten kilos in the process!”
We had a terrific walk to Balmoral beach, followed by the challenge of the steps at Balmoral oval and I’m sure that we hit every hill on the way home. Needless to say, the company was wonderful and the body felt invigorated. Join us next Tuesday!
We meet on the school steps Tuesdays at 8.45am and walk for 1 hour.
VINNIES NIGHT PATROL SNACKS AND SWEETS
I will be making a trip to Vinnies Soup kitchen on Monday 3rd June. If you would like to bake for the homeless, please place individual serves in ziplock snack bags and leave them in the school office before 8.40 am on 3/6/19. There is still a little time to donate some snacks on Monday morning. Every little bit helps.
