PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Carers
Congratulations to our Year 6 students who have either made their Confirmation this week or will make it before the end of the week. This is such an important Sacrament for our children as they reach their final year of primary school. It is important because it finalises their initiation into the Catholic faith and launches them on their own journey of faith.
Thank you to the Year 5 families who attended the Family Mass on Sunday at Sacred Heart. Our next Family Mass is next Sunday and Year 4 are invited to attend. This weekend also marks the Communion enrolment period.
Please note that the Kindergarten Mass scheduled for this Friday has had to be postponed. We are hoping that Kindergarten can join their Year 6 buddies at next Friday, 10th June 9.30am mass.
Thank you for our disco
The children had such a good time at the disco last Saturday. They had a lovely afternoon and evening dancing away to Milo and Maddies dance tunes and showing off their disco moves. They loved their pizza break and being with their friends. A huge thank you to the Kindergarten parents who volunteered and who led the organisation of the disco. We are so grateful for those parents who spent many hours here setting the hall up, decorating the space, organising food, signing children in and out and providing food and security. Thank you.
Parent Teacher Interviews are currently being held this week. Thank you to those parents who have made appointments promptly and have been engaged with their children’s goals. We predict that the children will gain both academically and emotionally from this combined support from parents and teachers. Thank you to the teachers for the enormous amount of work that they have done in preparation for these meetings.
Illness in the school - there are a number of flu and Covid cases in the school still. This may mean there will be some changes in your child’s school day. Every effort is made for consistency of teachers in classes and for the regular routines to be maintained but this is not always possible at the moment.
Tell them from Me Survey 2022
Each year Sydney Catholic Schools asks that parents in our schools participate in a survey that looks at school life and practices. Some of the recent positive changes in our practice have resulted from parent participation in our annual survey. Please take the time to fill the survey out and let us know what you like about the school and what you think might need to change. Parents can access the survey at https://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/login.htm
Staff, parents and Years 4-6 are all asked to fill out the survey annually. This survey will be closed next Friday the 10th June.
Have a wonderful week.
Regards
Julie Caldwell
