HeartFelt
Heartfelt
Term 2, Week 3
This week we commenced the celebration of family. Each student was given a prayer wheel to take home and share with the family. Choose a special time, such as after dinner, and take turns at having a spin and saying a kind word.
We are also running a “Family Life” competition. Each student has been asked to name a special time that they share with their family and why it’s so special to them. The most thoughtful entrant will receive a movie pass to share with the family. Please encourage your child to fill in the form and leave it in the box provided in the school office. The winner will be drawn on Friday 24th May at assembly.
“Sometime ago, a big group of professors from the United States came to our house in Calcutta. Before leaving they said to me, “Tell us something that will help us become holy.” And I said to them, “Smile at each other.”
(Because we have no time even to look at each other.)
And one of them asked me, “Are you married, Mother Teresa?”
I said, “Yes, and I find it sometimes very difficult to smile at Jesus for He can be very demanding.”
From “Love: A Fruit always in Season.” By Dorothy S. Hunt
It’s amusing to think that Mother Teresa found her betrothed, Jesus Christ, demanding. My guess is that there were never enough hours in the day to be the hands of change to so many children in India. Family Life is also demanding, so as parents and siblings, smiling more just might be the elixir to sweeten the journey.
Happy Family week!
Do you knit?
SHM is eager to teach our older students to knit so we can make blankets for Vinnies. A few talented parents or grandparents would really make life easier.
Are you free on Thursdays from 1 to 2 pm? We would like to start in the next few weeks. Please contact Mary Lozina or the school office.

We need to fill three spots:
- Bread delivery from Baker’s at Bridgepoint. Can you pick up the bread? You would need a large car and a regular Thursday commitment to bring the bread to the parish hall. You can pick up any time you like. This would suit someone working from home or perhaps a retiree? Any grandparents out there?
- Bread delivery (one box) to Crows Nest on Friday mornings before 11am
- Return of crates to Baker’s Delight Neutral Bay on Fridays (small to medium car is fine).
Call Mary Lozina if you can help.
