Dear Parents and Carers
We have much to celebrate over the last few weeks. Firstly a big thank you to the Year 3 students and their families for attending the Year 3 Mass on Sunday. Mrs Curran said it was such a delight to see the children at mass with their families. Thank you to Miss Jackson for supporting the parish choir with our student choir. This coming Sunday we have a chance to celebrate Sacred Heart Feast Day. Normally we celebrate this at school but this year, in light of the fact that we have been Sacred Heart for 100 years we encourage every family to join us at the 9am mass on Sunday the 26th June. Morning tea will be served after the mass.
Some of the other things we have been able to celebrate this term have been:
BIG Blue Awards Term 2
Congratulations to our wonderful students who received this term’s Big Blue Award:
Kindergarten - Archie Ballantyne and Harper Edwards
Year 1 - Gabi Guerrero Fernandez and Oliver Aouad
Year 2 - Oliver Isaac and Monique Carr

An additional congratulations to both Jorge Pyke and Edward Timmins who progressed to the Sydney Cross Country Trials held on Tuesday 7th June at Sydney Motorsport Park. A reflection of their efforts and dedication. Congratulations boys!
Public Speaking Finals
Congratulations to our Public Speaking Finalists who performed their speeches in
front of their peers last week. It is very rewarding to see the students who have grown in their public speaking skills over the years. Public Speaking is such a valuable life skill that we are proud of the fact we take the time and effort to teach and model these valuable skills.

Goal Setting Meetings and Reports 2022
As you would be aware we changed the assessment and reporting sequence this year at the request of parents in 2021 who felt that the meetings and reports at the end of Term 2 were a little late in the year to give a full picture of how our students were progressing. Our goal setting meetings are complete and reports should go out this Friday. There should be no surprises from these and no need for further meetings this week as the reports should reflect the goal setting and conversations you and the teachers have had over the last few weeks.
Parents and Friends Meeting Tuesday 28th June 7pm
As you may be aware there are several members of our P and F who will finish at the school at the end of the year. They are looking for other members for 2023. Next week's meeting would be a good opportunity to attend a P and F meeting, to meet the P and F committee and to see the work that they do in the school.
Lunch Clubs
Thank you to the teachers who have volunteered to take lunch clubs each day. We hope that this will help facilitate our students' playing skills: negotiation, conflict management and turn taking are some of the skills we are trying to develop in all students at the school.
Fizzics visits Year 3 - beginning to gear up for Science Week next term.

Two weeks ago I went to Tamworth to represent the Mackillop basketball team in the NSW PSSA tournament.
There were 14 different teams from all around the State competing in this one tournament.
We played 6 games over 3 days to come second in our pool and qualified for semi-finals, unfortunately we lost but ended up coming 4th in the State overall.
The boys that were in my team came from a variety of different places around southern NSW including Albury, Parramatta and Wollongong.
I enjoyed meeting new boys and making new friends because they were very nice and we all had a lot of fun together.
I played very well and enjoyed my trip to Tamworth, it was a great experience.
We have two watches and a key that have been handed into the office. If any of these belong to your child please contact the office so that they can be handed back to their rightful owners.
URSTRONG’s whole-school friendship strategy has improved the social climate in schools around the world, connecting over a million kids, parents, and teachers with a common language of friendship. We are proud to be a URSTRONG School and are committed to empowering your children with friendship skills.
You are invited to attend a Language of Friendship workshop online on Thursday 28 July at 6pm. Dana Kerford (Founder of URSTRONG) will teach you and your children skills + language to foster healthy, feel-good friendships.
