Dear Parents and Carers,
It was with great sadness that I let you know of my retirement yesterday to commence at the end of the year. Sad, because I will be leaving such a beautiful community and a profession I have worked in and loved for 40 years. I am also excited that I will have more time to spend with my family up north and in Sydney and to begin the new chapter of my life while John and I still have the health and energy to do so.
The Principal position will be advertised next week and from there the recruitment process will take about six weeks which allows time for candidates to apply, a short listing process, interviews and announcements to be made. This is managed by Sydney Catholic Schools and the Director will have final approval over the chosen candidate.
As part of the process it is important that the community has a say about what they value the most in the school and some attributes they would like to see in a new Principal. If you would like to fill out the short google form which is linked here by Friday 27 May, we will pass the information onto the interviewing panel so that they are aware of the community’s priorities.

Dear Parents,
URSTRONG’s whole-school friendship strategy has improved the social climate in schools around the world, connecting over a million kids, parents, and teachers with a common language of friendship. We are proud to be a URSTRONG School and are committed to empowering your children with friendship skills.
You are invited to take advantage of a FREE Parent Membership to access hundreds of resources – including an 8 session video series. This will allow you to learn the same language & strategies being taught in the classroom through the Friendology 101 curriculum. We hope that, as a URSTRONG Family, you will reinforce the important messages of empowerment, self-compassion, & kindness at home.
As a next step, we would recommend:
Click here to view an overview of URSTRONG.
Activate your FREE Parent Membership and explore all the resources available to your family.
Explore the hundreds of resources available to you!
We believe that empowering our students with these skills will create a culture of kindness at our school and we hope that, together, we can support your children to have healthy, feel-good friendships.
Once you have created your account and logged in, please feel free to engage in the following videos and information sessions.
Language of Friendship Overview: In this video, Dana Kerford (Friendship Expert & Founder of URSTRONG) will introduce you to URSTRONG’s simple framework for guiding children towards healthy friendships. Sit back and relax while Dana walks you through URSTRONG’s unique, kid-friendly language to teach friendship skills and conflict resolution!
Bullying: What Schools are Getting Wrong: We are working hard at our school to create a culture of kindness among the students. To do this, we have embraced URSTRONG’s proactive approach to bullying. Here’s an interview with the Founder of URSTRONG sharing why we use the term “Mean-on-Purpose” instead. It is important to note, however, that we believe over 90% of conflicts that happen at school are, what URSTRONG calls, Friendship Fires®.
If you have any questions about friendology, feel free to contact Mr De-Villiers.
