AMADEUS Yr 3-6 tomorrow
School closed Friday 8th April, reopens Wednesday 27th April
Dear Parents and Carers
Our Easter Liturgies were well attended by parents this week. Thank you to all those who attended, it means a great deal to our students and teachers to have you back as it contributes so much to the feeling that we are getting back to normal and are able to share our story and our faith. We have our final liturgy for the term tomorrow. The Easter Story as we know it is a compilation of gospels that introduce Jesus to their very differing communities. This reminds me that even though we all follow the Catholic faith we come to it with differing contexts, experiences and viewpoints. Wherever we are on our faith journey we can't help but be touched by the powerful story of the Crucifixion and Resurrection. Year 5 and 6 enacted the story of Jesus in the Garden with his disciples and Jesus’ betrayal. It might be a good time to talk with your children about the impact of the story on them and how as a family you can acknowledge the sacrifice of Jesus at Easter and plan for the celebration of Easter in our school holidays. Thank you to all the staff and in particular to Miss Jackson who prepared the Easter liturgies so reverently and so meaningfully. Today the children will come home with an Easter egg from their teachers and an Easter gift. The Easter gifts have been donated to us from Kasia McConaghy from Papaya - many thanks to Kasia for the beautiful gifts to help us celebrate Easter.
I would like to wish you all a very happy, holy and restful break over Easter. We all certainly deserve some rest and some sunshine. I will be away on leave for the first two weeks of school next term. Mr Nick Brierley will act in my place for the time that I am away.
Thank you and farewell to Mrs Katherine Reilly. Mrs Reilly has been with us now for a number of years and has been a wonderful support to the teachers in Kindergarten who will really miss her. We wish Katherine well as she joins her husband at his overseas posting.

Dance Fever
A very dedicated group of young dancers volunteered to enter the Dance Fever Interschool Challenge last night. This group of children have given up many lunchtimes and they deserved the resounding applause they got. It is such a wonderful experience for young people to put themselves out of their comfort zone and perform and compete against other dancers and other schools. Our dancers did themselves proud with their partner dances and their showcase dance. They were very enthusiastic, had fun and we were delighted with the results. We came home with two trophies. One for the Year Three dancers for winning the partner dance division and one for winning Zone A overall on points for all of our dances. Thank you to Milo and Carlos from Dance Fever who led the children through the process and to our teachers who volunteered to come out and assist on the night. Thank you to Miss Blake who assisted with the many lunchtime rehearsals.
