The Sacred Heart Virtual Christmas Concert.

Playing at your house on the 8th and 14th December!!

We have had so much fun this week filming our Christmas Concert for you! Our students have put on tremendous performances and our staff have gone above and beyond to create our Christmas performance for 2021. Thank you to the parents who have sourced and produced the colourful costumes the children have worn. Many thanks to our very versatile Year 6 who have been actors, dancers and prop persons. Thankyou to all staff and in particular our Christmas Committee who have choreographed dances, painted backdrops, written scripts, sourced props, met weekly for months and made our production come alive. Thank you to Music Mates who have been with us for three days filming the students and will spend the next few weeks editing our movie in preparation for the opening night.

The Amadeus Music Program preparation is moving along. Children are in the process of choosing the instrument they will learn next year. These choices should be shared with you next week. For this comprehensive music program, tutors and instrument hire there will be a cost of $50 per term per child.

Thank you to the many Kinder families who attended the 7.45am Friday Community mass; it was so lovely to see you all again after such a long time. This week Year 5  are especially invited to the mass.

Reminders

Water Safety Day - Friday 19th November. Students can wear sun safe clothes (with a beach flavour) to school. A hat and closed in shoes need to be worn.

Mufti Day for Year Six- 26th November. Please bring a gold coin donation that will go towards the Year Six Graduation. Students should wear casual dress for the day, with a hat and closed in shoes.

Jingle and Mingle - Warringah Bowls 4th December

Tickets for the evening and raffle tickets are on sale on QKR from today.

Covid Reminders from NSW Health and SCS that we must comply with:

• Please don't send children to school if they are unwell.
• If children display cold or flu symptoms they must get tested for Covid. SCS prefers the PCR tests as they are more reliable

Our car pick up

The Mosman Council parking rangers are particularly focusing on cars in the No Stopping zone at the moment. Unfortunately the fine is large and carries a two point penalty.

Thanks to the parents who have been conscious of helping the traffic move through the roundabout on the corner of Prince and Bardwell Street. It's important that the traffic is allowed to continue moving through there.

Commemorating the Founder Days for MacKillop and McAuley

This Friday 19th November we will acknowledge Saint Mary MacKillop

All students in the MacKillop (Green) Colour House are invited to wear a green accessory to acknowledge our MacKillop Founder Day. This is a catch-up day from the Feast Day of Mary MacKillop, 9th of August. Students in the MacKillop Colour House are invited to wear a green accessory (eg. a green ribbon, green hat, green socks/shoes.) No coloured hair spray please. This will be a special day for students in the MacKillop Colour House, where they will lead their classes in Prayer. Feel free to speak with your child about Saint Mary MacKillop- information is provided on this link.

Sacrament of Reconciliation- Year Three

This Tuesday and Wednesday, Year Three students will be making their Sacrament of Reconciliation. This is a special time for our Year Three students, please keep them in your prayers.

Year Four First Holy Communion Retreat Day, next Wednesday 24th November

Year Four classes will prepare for their First Holy Communion by partaking in a Retreat Day on site. They are invited to wear Mufti clothing next Wednesday.

Dear SCECS Families,

• I will still be coordinating and running Vacation Care at North Sydney, with the help of Austrie and our other Mosman/North Sydney educators
• All Vacation Care details are the same as normal: operating times for VC are back to 7:00AM - 6:00PM, with late fees applying for any pickups past 6:00PM
• A $10 late fee will apply for any bookings made within 7 days
• All bookings will need to be sent to North Sydney, as I do not have access to their booking system. Their email is northsydney.oshc@syd.catholic.edu.au
• Children are only able to attend Vacation Care if they are in a year where they will be attending school. If you have a child commencing Kindergarten in 2022, they are welcome to attend in January but will not be able to do so in December.
• Vacation Care at North Sydney is only open to our current Mosman and Clifton Gardens families

Lastly, as our families do not appear on North Sydney's system, those that wish to attend will have their account information transferred from our system to theirs. You will not have to complete another enrolment, however for security reasons direct debit information is not included in the transfer, so please fill out the attached direct debit form and return it alongside your booking form.

As usual please reach out if you have any questions at all, but make sure you send your booking forms to northsydney.oshc@syd.catholic.edu.au as I do not have the ability to create bookings for this holiday period.
