Dear Sacred Heart families,
Before we all have the well deserved break from the enormous complexity of remote learning it is very important to thank everyone for what they have done for our students this term. We know that everyone (parents and staff) have done their very best to ensure that our children’s learning has continued over the past term. It has been a very difficult juggling act for all involved and I thank you all for your patience and your perseverance.
Currently Sydney Catholic Schools and our school are working on plans for a gradual return to school next term that meets the needs of all stakeholders. It is important to remember that the return to school and events for next term will be very fluid and we need to manage ours and the students' expectations as we plan and navigate the inevitable messiness of the situation ahead of us. As you know Covid restrictions change often and we will all need to keep ourselves informed. Can I ask that all parents ensure they keep up to date by reading the newsletter, checking the calendar on Compass and checking for Compass notifications regularly.
As well as our plans for the staggered return we are currently making plans for Orientation for Kindergarten 2022, Year 6 Graduation, our Virtual Christmas Concert, our virtual Science Week and our annual assessments and reports.
Our plans this week have included our priorities for next term which are Wellbeing, Safety and Learning. The teachers are currently looking at learning plans for the rest of the year and the assessments which will guide our focus for the remaining weeks of the year and our goal setting for 2022.
Year 3 and 5 have their Naplan results available for pickup today. We are pleased with the overall growth in learning that the results show. We will continue to examine the data they provide the school to help guide us in setting our goals for future professional learning for the staff and learning for the students.
As our students have been required to spend so much time on screens for their learning this term I would like to recommend that students have a screen free holiday and take advantage of the hopefully beautiful spring weather that we may have.
Have a happy, healthy and safe holiday!

Dear Lord,
As we stand at the beginning of a new day
May we be blessed with the vision to see
the best of things to come.
May we be blessed with the wisdom
to make good decisions
And most of all,
May we be blessed with the Faith
that you are walking with us
Every step of the way.
Amen
Many thanks for your continued support,

Netball Wrap-up
NSNA has awarded 2021 Juniors winners and runners up based on positions at the end of Round 7.
Congratulations to our Year 4 team (SH05) who came second, and to all our girls who tried their best and played with great spirit each week. We hope to be able to present Year 4 with their Runners Up trophies, and our Year 2 and Year 3 NetSetGo teams with their participation medals at a school assembly when school returns.
Thank you to all our fantastic parent volunteer coaches, managers, NetSetGo umpires, scorers, ground duty staff and head coach Jacqui for another great season of Sacred Heart netball. We couldn’t do it without you!
Registrations for Year 2 - 6 Season 2022 will open Term 1. We also hope to run an introduction to netball skills program for our current Year 1 girls and boys as soon as Covid restrictions allow. Information about playing netball for SHM is available at: shmsportsclub.org.au
